Since dwarves and humans first encountered one another, there have been cases the two races interbreeding. The children conceived from these unions descend from both races, but are not truly members of either. In both appearance and beliefs, half-dwarves are a diverse and versatile. With no common cultural identity, half-dwarves must utilize whatever skills they have in order to be accepted in the societies in which they live. As a result, half-dwarves are frequently drawn down the path of adventuring.
Standard Racial Traits
-Ability Score Racial Traits: Half-dwarf characters gain a +2 bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation to represent their varied nature.
-Type: Half-dwarves are Humanoid creatures with both the human and the dwarf subtypes.
-Size: Half-dwarves are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
-Base Speed: Half-dwarves have a base speed of 30 feet.
-Languages: Half-dwarves begin play speaking Common and Dwarven. Half-Dwarves with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic).
Defensive Racial Traits
-Hardy: Half-dwarves gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.
Feat and Skill Racial Traits
-Adaptability: Half-dwarves receive Skill Focus as a bonus feat at 1st level.
Senses Racial Traits
-Darkvision: Half-dwarves can see perfectly in the dark up to 60 feet.
Offensive Racial Traits
-Hatred: Dwarves gain a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against humanoid creatures of the orc and goblinoid subtypes because of their special training against these hated foes.
Other Racial Traits
-Dwarf Blood: Half-dwarves count as both dwarves and humans for any effect related to race.
-Multitalented: Half-dwarves choose two favored classes at first level and gain +1 hit point or +1 skill point whenever they take a level in either one of those classes.
