Moa (CR 1)
Resembling oversized emus, moa are large flightless birds that were domesticated by early humans on Terrium. They are a common sight and one of the most popular mounts for medium sized creatures in the galaxy (second only to horses.) They are also valued as livestock animals, as their meat and enormous eggs are very delicious.

The statistics above are for a typical moa, called by some a “light moa.” Some moa are larger and heartier, bred for labor or combat. These moa are called “Heavy Moa” and gain the advanced simple template, a bite attack, and can be specifically trained for combat with the Handle Animal skill
Moa Animal Companion Statistics
Because they are so commonplace in the cosmos, moa are an excellent choice for an animal companion. Moa’s are added to the list of animals that a Druid or a Ranger may choose as an animal companion. A medium sized paladin may also select a moa as a mount at 4th level with the Divine Bone ability. Finally, a medium sized Cavalier may select a moa as a mount at 1st level.
